G.C.C. v North Kildare C.C.

The Garda Taverners Team continued their season at the North Kildare Cricket Club, near Maynooth County Kildare on the 06/06/2008. The G.C.C. welcomed the return of Tara Byrne after his broken finger. Ian Darnell and Damien Gilmore opened the batting for the G.C.C., Ian fell cheaply which brought Dominic Berry to the crease. Dominic must have eaten his weetabix, as he fired a quick fire 22 to retire not out. Damien and Marcus Hand both retired after scoring their 20 runs. The rest of the Garda batters continued the scoring and thanks a couple of boundaries by Captain Mark Redmond who batted No10, the G.C.C. managed 119 for their 20 over’s.

The G.C.C. took to the field and their bowlers were able to restrict the North Kildare batsmen to singles, but very few boundaries were scored. Damien, Dominic and Pauli Corray all took wickets. Tara managed a one handed catch to restrict the North Kildare batsman. Adam Darnell bowled the last over the G.C.C. and the G.C.C. kept the home team to 88 runs and were able to get back to winning ways
